Having worked within the Shell Schools system for several years I understand the International setting and as such, feel I can offer a school expertise in several ways;

 

•           Commitment to working towards becoming a learning focussed school.

 

•           Experience working with children for whom English is a second language. In order for children to progress I ensure correct models of English are used consistently and where possible visual clues applied.

 

•           Sound knowledge of the IPC enabling me to accept and celebrate a range of cultures and differences. I have helped staff, new to IPC adapt teaching styles and have held parent information evenings regarding the curriculum.

 

•           Openness to new ideas.  Working within a 3 stream school has meant a willingness to be adaptable, flexible and open to other cultures and educational philosophies.

 

•          Able to work independently and in a team.

 

•         Well organised learning environment where children are set tasks  

appropriately according to any IEP. Regular contact with parents and   other staff constantly reviewing progress is maintained.

 

•        Regular individual target setting to monitor and ensure progress is  

         maintained.

 

•        Use of assessment in all aspects of the curriculum with feedback to    

         parents.

 

•        Imaginative displays that are learning hooks as well as celebrating    

         children’s learning.

 

•       Knowledge and experience of SATS in both KS1 and 2.

 

•       Experience with children with severe learning difficulties.  Liaison and  

        working closely with outside agencies and parents has been an  

        important part of the development of my teaching skills.

 

•      Highlighting appropriate codes of conduct.  Good behaviour is rewarded

       whilst bad is dealt with in an appropriate and consistent way.

 

•       Offers a variety of extra curricular activities depending upon the need of  

        the school.    

 

•      Capable of organising large whole school productions which have  

       included, Christmas musicals, Easter celebrations,  Swimming Galas,    

       Sports Days, Carnival.

 

•          Confidence to lead in service training in literacy based on own training.

 

•          Experience of acting Head of Stream on two short term occasions.

I maintain high expectations, encouraging pupils to become independent learners.
